Includes material relating to the controversy garnered by Rhoads' Time magazine cover story.

Biographical / Historical

Cornelius P. Rhoads was appointed as director of Memorial Hospital in 1940. In 1945, Rhoads also became the first director of the Sloan-Kettering Institute, and later, in 1953, the first scientific director of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, holding this position until his death in 1959.
