Scope Note: 1928-2017. A founder of the field of psycho-oncology, Holland, in collaboration with two colleagues, established a psychiatric service at MSK in 1977, one of the first of its kind in cancer treatment. Holland held the position of chief of the Psychiatry Service from 1977 to 1996. In 1996, she was named the inaugural Chairwoman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MSK.
